Hi, the software looks perfect for my need.
Unfortunately I cannot get the email notification working.
The program is installed on a server running XP Pro. I just configured as a test outlook express, and it is able to send email out via my ISP server.
If I put in exactly the same info to the config of Gateway IP Montor, along with with my login ID and password, and then press "Test" I see a pop up with the message "Unable to connect to SMTP server" "503 #5.3.3 AUTH Not Available"
    fyi SMTP server is shawmail.cc.shawcable.net
    SMTP port is 25
    security toggle is off.
all these settings match outlook express equivalent settings.
    ???
    thanks for any advice
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

While looking on Shaw's website, I see that it does not appear that their servers do not support SMTP-AUTH

If you are not having luck with Shaw, you could also try a public SMTP server such as Google or Yahoo.

Let us know how this works for you,
    Steve

    thanks for the advice.

ok, now I working with a gmail account, and once again I have configured outlook express to send mail via SMTP, and once again Gateway monitor refuses to connect.
using identical settings in both for the outgoing mail server.
    smtp.gmail.com
    port 465
    requires ssl
triple checked account name and password
tried with SSL.TLS enable and disabled.
    tried disabling firewall
All I get is an annoying connection refused error. Outlook Express works fine.
    argh!
